Way to go Potter fans!!!!!!!!
So far, Deathly Hallows Part 2 has obliterated Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s record for biggest midnight debut with $43.5 million and Twilight Saga: New Moon’s record for highest grossing single day/opening day ever with an estimated $92.1 freaking million.  Only one more record for opening weekends to go, and that’s The Dark Knight’s highest opening weekend gross of $158 million.
Let’s think about this.  It’s the 8th movie in a series, which there aren’t too many of.  In fact, I can only think of James Bond having 8 (well it has 22, but I’m not concerned about that).  The 8th James Bond movie was Live and Let Die in 1973, and its total domestic gross was $35.3 million.  Harry Potter’s 8th movie just made triple its entire domestic gross in one day.  Granted, that Bond movie came out in 1973, so it’s not a fair comparison.  That would be comparing it to one of the more recent ones, like the 22nd movie Quantum of Solace.  Its opening weekend gross 3 years ago was $67.5 million.  Which means that in its opening 3 days, Quantum of Solace made a third less than what Deathly Hallows Part 2 made in one day.
Hopefully, not everyone went to see it on Friday.  I know I’m going to see it at least 2 more times this weekend, but will other people want to go back and see it again?
As happy as I am that it is breaking records, I’m afraid it’s going to spur the Twihards to come out in full force for the last two movies for Twilight coming out this year and next year.  I swear to Merlin, if Breaking Dawn takes away any records that Deathly Hallows Part 2 is making this weekend, I will punch a Twihard in the face.

wanna know why summit isn’t releasing breaking dawn pt. 2 for a whole year after pt. 1 comes out?

So that they can keep sweeping the MTV Movie Awards for another two years.  Because those are the only awards the Twilight movies will ever win.

Oh god, not another movie
